The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 28094F is a countersunk hex plug designed to seal threaded pipe ports in plumbing, HVAC, and industrial piping systems. Machined from forged brass, this plug features a 1/4-18 NPTF male thread that creates a pressure-tight seal without a separate washer or gasket. It measures 0.45 inches in length with a 0.26-inch internal hex socket for installation with a hex key. Rated to 1200 psi, it handles the pressure demands found in compressed air, gas, hydraulic, and fluid distribution lines. The countersunk head profile sits flush or below the surrounding surface, making it well suited for close-clearance applications where a protruding plug head would interfere with adjacent components.
The 28094F is a standard pipe plug used across residential and commercial applications including HVAC equipment, gas distribution piping, compressed air systems, hydraulic circuits, and general plumbing. It performs within a temperature range of -65 to 250 degrees F, making it viable in both refrigeration-adjacent and moderate-heat environments. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and pipefitters install this fitting when capping off unused ports on manifolds, valves, and pipe assemblies fabricated from aluminum, brass, bronze, copper, iron, or steel pipe.
Rated for use with aluminum, brass, bronze, copper, iron, and steel pipe. Designed as an OEM-style pipe plug for any threaded 1/4-18 NPTF female port in plumbing, HVAC, compressed air, and industrial piping assemblies.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter using an appropriate hex key sized to the 0.26-inch socket. Depressurize and isolate the system before removing or installing any pipe plug. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape as required by local codes and the piping system service medium. Verify that the mating female port is also NPTF to ensure a proper dryseal engagement.
