The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 28061L is a light pattern brass coupling designed to join two sections of pipe using 1/2-inch female NPTF connections on both ends. Built from solid brass, it provides reliable leak-resistant sealing in pressurized fluid and gas piping systems. The 1/2-14 NPTF thread form creates a pressure-tight mechanical seal without relying solely on sealant tape or compound. Rated to 1200 psi and suitable for service temperatures from -65 degrees F to 250 degrees F, this coupling handles demanding conditions in both residential and light commercial plumbing and mechanical applications. Plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors are the primary installers of this fitting.
This coupling is used in straight-run pipe connections where two female-threaded pipe ends need to be joined with a male-threaded nipple or fitting already in place on each side. At 1.15 inches in length with a 0.93-inch hex body, it fits into tight spaces while still allowing wrench engagement. Compatible with aluminum, brass, bronze, copper, iron, and steel pipe, it suits a wide range of system materials commonly found in plumbing, compressed air, hydraulic, and general fluid transfer installations.
Designed for use with aluminum, brass, bronze, copper, iron, and steel pipe. Suitable for 1/2-inch NPTF-threaded piping systems in plumbing, compressed air, hydraulic, and general fluid transfer applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC or IFGC code requirements for the system type. Depressurize and isolate the pipe system completely before disassembling or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the mating male threads before assembly. Do not over-tighten, as brass fittings can crack under excessive torque.
