The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 270210 is a steel bulkhead union 45-degree elbow fitting designed for hydraulic plumbing applications requiring a panel or bulkhead pass-through with an angled change in line direction. Both ends terminate in 5/8-inch Male JIC (Joint Industry Council) flare connections on a 7/8-14 thread, allowing the fitting to join two hydraulic lines at a 45-degree offset while passing through a structural panel or enclosure wall. Rated to 3,500 psi maximum operating pressure, the 270210 is well suited to high-pressure hydraulic circuits common in mobile equipment, industrial machinery, and power-unit plumbing. Hydraulic technicians and fluid-power mechanics are the primary installers.
This fitting is used in hydraulic systems where a line must penetrate a panel, frame rail, or enclosure and simultaneously change direction by 45 degrees. Typical applications include mobile hydraulic equipment such as loaders, lifts, and agricultural machinery, as well as stationary hydraulic power units. The all-steel construction makes it appropriate for demanding environments where durability and pressure retention are critical. It belongs to the MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 2702 Series Steel JIC Adapters line.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for hydraulic systems using 5/8-inch Male JIC connections and 7/8-14 thread specifications. Part of the MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 2702 Series Steel JIC Adapters.
Installation should be performed by a qualified hydraulic technician or fluid-power mechanic. Depressurize the hydraulic system completely and relieve all stored energy before removing or installing any hydraulic fittings. JIC flare fittings rely on metal-to-metal flare-seat contact for sealing; inspect the flare seats on mating components for damage before assembly. Tighten to the fitting manufacturer's recommended procedure for JIC connections and verify there are no leaks before returning the system to service.
