The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 264X8 is a barstock brass compression tee designed for splitting or joining fluid lines in plumbing, HVAC, and light mechanical systems. All three ports accept 1/2 in compression connections, making this a symmetrical tee suitable for equal-flow branch configurations. Machined from brass barstock, the fitting delivers a pressure rating of 200 psi and handles temperatures ranging from -65 degrees F to 250 degrees F. The 11/16-20 thread specification ensures a consistent, leak-resistant seat against compatible ferrule-style compression components. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians are the primary installers of this fitting type.
This fitting is used in residential and light commercial installations where copper, aluminum, or thermoplastic tubing must be branched or teed without soldering or welding. Common applications include potable water distribution, refrigeration line sets, pneumatic control tubing, and instrumentation plumbing. The compression connection style allows for field assembly using standard hand tools, making it well suited for retrofit work and service calls where open-flame work is restricted or impractical.
Designed for use with copper, aluminum, and thermoplastic tubing in compression-style fitting applications. Suitable for plumbing, HVAC, pneumatic, and instrumentation systems operating within the rated pressure and temperature limits.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified HVAC technician in accordance with applicable local codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off and depressurize the supply line completely before disassembling or installing any compression fitting. Use a tubing cutter to ensure a clean, square tube end before inserting the ferrule and nut - do not use a hacksaw, as rough cuts compromise the compression seal. Hand-tighten the compression nut first, then advance with a wrench; do not overtighten, as this can deform the ferrule and cause leaks.
