The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 248X10 is a brass half union adapter designed to connect SAE 45-degree male flared tubing to a male pipe thread fitting. The first connection is a 5/8-inch SAE 45-degree male flare, and the second is a 1/2-inch male pipe thread (MPT). Thread dimensions are 7/8-14 on the flare side and 1/2-14 on the pipe side. Overall length is 2 inches, with a 0.87-inch hex for wrench engagement. This fitting is installed by plumbers, HVAC technicians, and hydraulic system mechanics wherever a flared tube line must transition to a threaded pipe connection.
