The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 23700X6 is an SAE pattern barstock union tee machined from brass, designed for use in compressed air, fluid, and gas piping systems. All three ports are 3/8 inch Female NPTF with a 3/8-18 thread pitch, providing a pressure-tight, dry-seal connection without the need for thread sealant tape on every application. The fitting is rated to 1200 psi and handles a working temperature range of -65 degrees F to 250 degrees F. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians install this type of fitting when branching a run of pipe into two directions or tapping into an existing line at equal diameters on all three ports.
This union tee is suited for residential and light commercial piping applications where brass construction is required or preferred. It is compatible with brass, bronze, copper, steel, aluminum, and iron pipe. The center-to-end dimensions of 0.84 inches by 0.81 inches make it a compact fitting appropriate for tight panel or manifold installations. Typical use cases include instrument air lines, hydraulic plumbing, fuel distribution headers, and general-purpose pipe assemblies where a reliable, repeatable tee connection is needed at 3/8 inch line size.
Designed for use with brass, bronze, copper, steel, aluminum, and iron pipe in SAE-pattern NPTF piping assemblies.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC or IFGC requirements for the fluid or gas being conveyed. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before disassembling or threading any fitting. NPTF threads are designed to seal on the thread form itself; inspect threads for damage before assembly and use appropriate pipe thread sealant if required by the application or local code. Do not overtighten - use a calibrated torque wrench or follow the fitting manufacturer's recommended turns-past-finger-tight guideline for the pipe material involved.
