The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 21043 is a single mini barb female adapter designed for low-volume fluid and gas line connections in plumbing, HVAC, and light industrial applications. It features a 1/4-inch mini barb on one end and a 1/8-inch female NPTF port on the other, with a 1/8-27 thread specification. Constructed from brass, this fitting delivers reliable corrosion resistance and is rated for up to 150 psi. It is sized for use with 1/8-inch inner diameter polyethylene tubing and is suitable for service across a wide temperature range of -65 to 90 degrees F. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and pipefitters typically install this type of fitting in control line and instrumentation applications.
This fitting is well suited for residential and light commercial systems where small-diameter polyethylene tubing must transition to a female NPTF threaded port. Common install scenarios include refrigeration control lines, pneumatic instrument tubing, and low-pressure fluid transfer assemblies. The compact form factor makes it practical in tight spaces where larger fittings are not appropriate. It ships with a minimum order quantity of one, making it accessible for single-repair situations as well as bulk service stock.
Designed for use with 1/8-inch inner diameter polyethylene tubing and 1/8-inch female NPTF threaded ports in low-pressure fluid and gas line assemblies.
This fitting is typically installed by licensed plumbers or HVAC technicians working on control or instrumentation lines. Shut off all system pressure and depressurize the line before removing or installing any fittings. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the NPTF threads in accordance with the fitting manufacturer and applicable IPC guidelines. Ensure the polyethylene tubing is fully seated past the barb retaining ridge before pressurizing the system.
