The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 20689 is a composite-body swivel male branch tee designed for push-to-connect pneumatic and fluid-transfer plumbing systems. It features two 12 mm push-to-connect ports and a 1/2-inch male BSPT swivel outlet, allowing branch connections without rotating the tubing or adjacent fittings. The composite body is nickel-plated for corrosion resistance. The positional swivel on the male BSPT end provides rotational adjustment during installation, making it practical in tight or awkward installations. Rated to 150 psi and suitable for operating temperatures from 32 degrees F to 140 degrees F, this fitting suits a range of light-industrial and trade plumbing applications.
The 20689 is suited for residential and light-commercial installations where metric push-to-connect tubing meets BSPT-threaded equipment or manifolds. Common applications include compressed-air distribution, pneumatic control circuits, and fluid-handling lines that require a branch tee with a swivel male thread outlet. It is typically installed by plumbers, pipefitters, or HVAC technicians working with metric push-to-connect systems alongside BSPT-ported equipment.
Designed for use with 12 mm push-to-connect tubing on two ports and 1/2-inch BSPT-threaded equipment on the swivel outlet. Suitable as an OEM-style or replacement branch tee fitting in composite push-to-connect plumbing and pneumatic systems using metric tubing.
Depressurize and de-energize the system completely before disconnecting or installing any fittings. Push-to-connect ports require clean, square-cut tubing ends seated fully to the depth stop for a leak-free connection. The BSPT swivel end should be threaded into the mating port with appropriate thread sealant per the equipment manufacturer's recommendation before final positional adjustment. Verify all connections hold rated pressure with a system leak test before returning the line to service.
