The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 20530NIC is a nickel-plated brass male adapter fitting designed to transition a 5/16-inch push-to-connect port to a 1/8-inch male NPT threaded connection. The fitting features a nickel collet that grips tubing securely without additional tools, making it well suited for pneumatic, instrumentation, and light fluid-handling systems. At 0.03 pounds and approximately 1.05 inches in length, it is a compact, lightweight component. The 1/8-27 NPT thread conforms to standard tapered pipe thread dimensions. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and pneumatic system installers working with push-to-connect tubing runs rely on this adapter to terminate lines at threaded ports on valves, manifolds, and equipment bodies.
This adapter is used in residential and light commercial applications where copper, nylon, or polyethylene tubing must connect to a threaded port. Common install scenarios include pneumatic control lines, refrigeration sensing lines, compressed air distribution, and instrumentation tubing. The push-to-connect end accepts 5/16-inch OD tubing with a simple straight insertion, while the 1/8-inch male NPT end threads into a female-threaded port on a valve, gauge, solenoid, or similar component. It is well suited for tight-clearance panel or manifold installations given its compact profile.
Designed as an OEM-style push-to-connect male adapter for systems using 5/16-inch OD tubing terminated at 1/8-inch female NPT ports, consistent with standard pneumatic, HVAC control, and instrumentation plumbing configurations.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber, HVAC technician, or qualified pneumatic systems technician. Depressurize and isolate the line before disassembly or installation. Thread the male NPT end into the female port by hand first, then tighten with a wrench to avoid cross-threading; apply thread sealant tape or compound per applicable IPC or system manufacturer requirements. Insert tubing straight and fully into the push-to-connect collet until it seats, and verify retention by pulling back lightly on the tube before returning the system to service.
