The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 20256 is a Poly-Flo interchangeable female adapter designed for flareless compression tube connections in low-pressure fluid and pneumatic systems. Constructed from brass, this fitting connects 1/8-inch compression tubing on one end to a 1/8-inch female NPTF thread on the other. It is rated to 150 psi and handles temperatures from -40 to 150 degrees F. The compact hex body measures 0.56 inches across the flats, and overall length is 0.75 inches, making it well suited for tight installation spaces. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and instrumentation installers use this type of fitting where a secure, leak-resistant tube-to-pipe transition is needed without soldering or flaring.
The 20256 is used in residential and light commercial applications where aluminum or copper tubing must terminate at a female NPT port. Typical install scenarios include instrument tubing runs, fuel gas sample lines, refrigeration sensing lines, and similar low-diameter compression tube systems. The Poly-Flo interchangeable design allows the compression sleeve and nut to be replaced or swapped without replacing the body, reducing service time in the field. This fitting is suited for systems where consistent sealing performance under cycling temperatures and pressures is required.
Designed for use with aluminum and copper tubing in flareless compression tube systems. Compatible with 1/8-inch OD tubing and standard 1/8-inch female NPTF female-ported components.
Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers or HVAC technicians following applicable IPC or IFGC code requirements for the specific fluid or gas service. Shut off system pressure and depressurize the line before disassembly or fitting installation. Use an appropriately sized open-end wrench on the hex flats; do not use pipe wrenches or gripping tools that could deform the body. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to the NPTF threads per the sealant manufacturer instructions and the applicable code for the service fluid.
