The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 20123NIC is a nickel-plated brass bulkhead union designed for push-to-connect tubing installations that pass through a panel, bulkhead, or enclosure wall. Both ends accept 5/16-inch tubing via push-to-connect collet fittings, eliminating the need for threads, ferrules, or solder on either side of the panel. The nickel collet construction offers corrosion resistance suitable for fluid and pneumatic service in demanding environments. At 0.07 pounds, this compact fitting is well suited for tight installations where minimal weight and bulk matter. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and industrial piping mechanics commonly specify this type of fitting for panel-mount tubing runs.
This bulkhead union is used in applications where a tubing line must pass through a partition, bracket, or equipment enclosure wall while maintaining a secure, leak-resistant connection on both faces. Typical installations include HVAC equipment panels, pneumatic control systems, fluid transfer assemblies, and process equipment enclosures. The push-to-connect design on both ends speeds up installation and allows tubing to be released and reconnected without replacing the fitting. This fitting is appropriate for both residential and light commercial installations where nickel-plated brass is the specified material.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for push-to-connect tubing systems using 5/16-inch OD tubing in nickel-plated brass bulkhead union applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber, HVAC technician, or qualified pipefitter familiar with push-to-connect fitting systems. Always depressurize and drain the line before removing or installing any fitting. Ensure the tubing end is cut cleanly and squarely and is free of burrs before inserting into the collet to maintain a proper seal. Follow all applicable codes including IPC and local mechanical codes for the intended service fluid and pressure rating.
