The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 20085A84 is a brass swivel elbow fitting designed for push-to-connect to male NPTF plumbing and pneumatic connections. The swivel design allows the male NPTF end to rotate independently, making it easier to thread into a port without twisting the connected tubing. Connection size 1 is 1/2 inch push-to-connect and connection size 2 is 1/4 inch male NPTF with a 3/8-18 thread. The hex wrench flat measures 0.68 inches across. Rated for service from -10 to 200 degrees F, this fitting is suited for air, water, and compatible fluid lines where a compact elbow transition is needed. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and pneumatic system installers are the primary trades that work with this fitting.
The 20085A84 is appropriate for residential and light commercial applications where a 90-degree directional change is needed between push-to-connect tubing and a threaded port. Typical install scenarios include compressed air distribution, water supply lines, and HVAC equipment connections where space constraints require an elbow rather than a straight fitting. The push-to-connect end accepts tubing without tools, while the male NPTF end threads into a female-threaded port or valve body.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation brass push-to-connect swivel elbow for systems using 1/2 inch push-to-connect tubing and 1/4 inch female NPTF threaded ports.
Installation of threaded brass fittings should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified HVAC technician in accordance with applicable IPC or IFGC guidelines. Shut off system pressure and depressurize all lines before removing or installing fittings. Hand-tighten the NPTF thread first, then use an open-end wrench on the 0.68 inch hex to achieve a proper seal without over-torquing the brass body. Do not use the push-to-connect end without confirming the tubing outer diameter matches the 1/2 inch connection size and that the tubing is fully seated against the internal stop.
