The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 20056P is a male connector adapter designed for plastic push-in pneumatic and fluid system applications. It joins a 1/4-inch push-in tube connection to a 3/8-inch male iron pipe (MIP) threaded port. Constructed from polypropylene, this fitting handles operating pressures up to 170 psi, making it suitable for low-to-medium pressure compressed air, water, and compatible fluid lines. The push-in end accepts tubing with a simple hand insertion, while the 3/8-18 tapered male thread seals against a female port. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and mechanical contractors install this type of fitting where a push-in tube line must terminate at a threaded manifold, valve, or equipment port.
This adapter is used in residential and light commercial installations where polypropylene push-in fittings are specified. Common applications include compressed air distribution lines, water supply connections, and instrumentation tubing runs. The push-in design eliminates the need for ferrules or compression sleeves, speeding up connections in tight spaces. The 3/8-18 MIP thread conforms to standard NPT taper specifications, allowing it to mate with common threaded ports found on valves, solenoids, and manifold blocks across HVAC, plumbing, and pneumatic systems.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for plastic push-in pneumatic and fluid systems using 1/4-inch OD tubing and 3/8-inch NPT female threaded ports.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber, HVAC technician, or qualified mechanical contractor. Depressurize and isolate the system completely before disconnecting or installing any fittings. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to the MIP threads in accordance with the applicable plumbing or mechanical code before threading into the female port. Insert tubing fully into the push-in end until it seats; to release, depress the collet ring before pulling the tube free.
