The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 19269 is a brass female elbow fitting designed to transition a 5/8-inch compression connection to a 3/8-inch female iron pipe (FIP) thread. This 90-degree elbow is used to change direction within a supply line while joining two different connection types in a single fitting body. Brass construction provides corrosion resistance and durability in wet service environments. Plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting in potable water, refrigeration, and gas distribution lines where compression-to-threaded transitions are required.
This fitting is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications. Typical installations include under-sink supply lines, refrigerator ice maker connections, and similar low-pressure supply runs where a directional change and connection-type transition are needed at the same point. The compression end accepts standard 5/8-inch OD tubing, while the FIP end threads onto a 3/8-inch male pipe thread fitting or valve body.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for residential and light commercial plumbing systems requiring a 5/8-inch compression to 3/8-inch FIP transition elbow.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable IPC and local plumbing codes. Shut off the water supply and relieve line pressure before removing or installing any compression fitting. Hand-tighten the compression nut onto the tubing, then snug with a wrench - avoid overtightening, which can crack the ferrule or distort the seat. Inspect the compression ferrule and tubing end for burrs or damage before assembly.
