The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 19226 is a brass male elbow fitting designed for compression-to-threaded connections in plumbing and fluid-handling systems. It connects a 1/4 inch compression line to a 3/8 inch male NPTF threaded port, changing direction in a tight run while maintaining a secure, leak-resistant joint. This is a body-only fitting - no compression nut is included. The brass construction provides corrosion resistance and durability in both low-pressure water and gas-compatible applications. Plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting in residential and light commercial systems where a tubing line must terminate at a threaded male port at a 90-degree angle.
This fitting is suited for residential plumbing, refrigeration, and HVAC service applications where 1/4 inch compression tubing connects to 3/8 inch NPTF male ports. Typical install scenarios include connecting copper or plastic supply tubing to valves, manifolds, or equipment ports. Because this is a body-only fitting, the installer must supply a compatible compression nut and sleeve to complete the compression end of the joint. The compact dimensions - 1.1 inches wide and 1 inch in length - allow installation in confined spaces common to appliance and equipment rough-in work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service fitting for plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration systems requiring a 1/4 inch compression to 3/8 inch male NPTF elbow transition. A compatible compression nut and sleeve must be sourced separately to complete installation.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified HVAC technician in accordance with applicable IPC and local plumbing codes. Shut off and depressurize the supply line fully before disassembling any existing fitting. NPTF threads are designed for dry-seal engagement, but thread sealant tape or compound compatible with the system fluid may be used on the male threads per job requirements. Do not overtighten the threaded connection; snug by hand and finish with a wrench to avoid distorting the brass threads.
