The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 19124 is a forged brass union elbow body designed for compression-to-compression tube connections. It accepts 1/4 inch tubing on both ends, using standard compression fittings to create a reliable, leak-resistant 90-degree directional change in a tubing run. The fitting is rated to 300 psi and handles temperatures from -65 to 250 degrees F, making it suitable for a wide range of fluid and gas service applications. The 7/16-24 thread and 0.38 inch hex allow for clean assembly with a standard open-end or box wrench. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and refrigeration mechanics commonly install this type of fitting during system assembly or repair work.
This union elbow body is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC refrigerant line accessories, and instrumentation tubing systems where a 90-degree change of direction is required without soldering or flaring. It is specifically compatible with copper, aluminum, and thermoplastic tubing at 1/4 inch outside diameter. The center-to-end dimension of 0.66 inches on each leg helps with planning tight installations where space is limited.
Designed for use with copper, aluminum, and thermoplastic tubing at 1/4 inch outside diameter in compression fitting applications.
Install by a licensed plumber or qualified HVAC technician where local codes apply. Shut off and depressurize the line before disassembling any existing fittings. Hand-tighten the compression nut onto the fitting body, then snug with a wrench - do not overtighten, as this can deform the compression sleeve and cause leaks. Verify that tubing ends are cut square and deburred before insertion.
