The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 18265 is a 90-degree elbow fitting designed to transition from a 5/8 inch compression connection to a 3/4 inch female NPT (FNPTF) threaded port. Forged from brass, this fitting is built for reliable service in fluid and gas distribution systems where a direction change is required. It is rated to 150 psi and handles temperatures from -65 degrees F to 250 degrees F. The 13/16-18 compression thread mates with the 3/4-14 NPT female port to create a secure, leak-resistant joint. Plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting in residential and light commercial applications where copper, aluminum, or thermoplastic tubing terminates at a threaded port.
This elbow is suited for use with copper, aluminum, and thermoplastic tubing in plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration piping systems. Its compact forged brass body accommodates tight installation spaces. The 1-1/4 inch body size and a center-to-end dimension of 1.22 x 0.77 inches make it appropriate for close-quarter routing where a full-size fitting would not clear surrounding components. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians commonly specify this type of compression-to-FNPT transition fitting when connecting flexible or soft tubing runs to threaded valve bodies, manifolds, or fixtures.
Compatible with copper, aluminum, and thermoplastic tubing at the 5/8 inch compression end, and designed to mate with 3/4 inch female NPT threaded ports on valves, manifolds, and fixtures.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter in accordance with applicable plumbing codes such as the IPC. Shut off and depressurize the system fully before removing or installing any compression fitting. Do not overtighten the compression nut, as excessive force can deform the ferrule and compromise the seal. Inspect tubing ends for burrs or ovality before assembly, as irregularities at the cut end will prevent a proper compression seal.
