The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 18251 is a 90-degree compression elbow fitting manufactured from forged brass. It connects 1/8 inch compression tubing to a 1/8 inch female National Pipe Thread Fuel (FNPTF) port, making a right-angle transition between a tube run and a threaded port. The fitting carries a 5/16-24 compression thread on one end and a 1/8-27 NPT thread on the other. Rated to 400 psi and suitable for temperatures from -65 degrees F to 250 degrees F, it is built for reliable service in plumbing, refrigeration, pneumatic, and instrumentation applications. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and mechanical contractors install this fitting in tight-clearance runs where a straight fitting will not work.
This fitting is designed for use with copper, aluminum, and thermoplastic tubing. Its compact body size of 0.56 inches suits installations where space is limited. The 90-degree angle allows routing a tube line into a threaded port on a valve, manifold, or instrument body without bending the tubing. It is commonly found in residential and light commercial HVAC systems, pneumatic control circuits, fuel gas lines, and process instrumentation plumbing where compression-to-female-NPT transitions are required.
Designed for use with copper, aluminum, and thermoplastic tubing in compression-to-FNPTF applications. Suitable as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting wherever a 1/8 inch compression by 1/8 inch FNPTF 90-degree elbow is specified.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or HVAC technicians following applicable IPC or IFGC guidelines. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before removing or installing any compression fitting. Hand-tighten the compression nut onto the tubing, then advance with a wrench per standard compression fitting practice - do not overtighten, as forged brass compression fittings can crack if over-torqued. Verify the tubing end is cut cleanly and squarely, and that the ferrule is seated correctly before pressurizing the system.
