The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 18207 is a brass male adapter fitting that transitions a 1-inch compression connection to a 1-inch male NPTF thread. Designed for use in plumbing and fluid distribution systems, this fitting is suited for connecting copper, aluminum, or thermoplastic tubing to threaded pipe fittings or valves. The 1.38-inch hex provides a solid grip for standard wrenching during installation. The fitting handles a service temperature range of -65 to 250 degrees F, making it appropriate for a wide range of fluid handling and low-pressure applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the typical installers for this type of compression-to-threaded adapter.
This adapter is commonly used in residential and light commercial plumbing systems where a compression-style tubing run must terminate at a threaded port. Typical applications include water supply lines, refrigeration tubing connections, and pneumatic distribution lines using copper, aluminum, or thermoplastic tube stock. The 2-inch center-to-end dimension provides useful reference for rough-in and space planning in tight installations where fitting clearance matters.
Designed for use with copper, aluminum, and thermoplastic tubing in compression fitting applications requiring a male NPTF threaded outlet.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Shut off the water or fluid supply and depressurize the line fully before disassembling any existing fittings or installing this adapter. Compression fittings do not require thread sealant on the compression side, but male NPTF threads should be made up with an appropriate thread sealant or tape per the system requirements. Do not overtighten the compression nut, as excessive force can deform the ferrule and compromise the seal.
