The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 18159 is a brass compression-to-female pipe thread adapter designed to connect compression tubing lines to female NPT threaded ports. The fitting transitions a 1/2 inch compression connection on one end to a 1/2 inch FNPTF connection on the other, using an 11/16-20 x 1/2-14 thread specification. Rated to 200 psi and suitable for temperatures ranging from -65 to 250 degrees F, this adapter handles the pressures and temperature swings common in plumbing, HVAC, and light mechanical systems. The 1 inch hex body allows for a standard wrench grip during installation. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and mechanical contractors install this fitting in both new construction and retrofit applications.
This adapter is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, hydronic heating lines, refrigeration tubing connections, and similar systems where a compression line must terminate into a female pipe threaded port. It is compatible with copper, aluminum, and thermoplastic tubing, making it versatile across a range of piping materials commonly found in trade work. The compact profile, measuring approximately 1.65 inches in length, allows installation in tight spaces typical of equipment closets and mechanical chases.
Designed for use with copper, aluminum, and thermoplastic tubing in compression-to-female pipe thread applications. Suitable for plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems requiring a 1/2 inch compression to 1/2 inch FNPTF transition.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or HVAC technician familiar with compression fittings and NPT pipe thread connections. Shut off and depressurize the system before beginning any fitting work. Apply thread sealant to the FNPTF connection as required by local plumbing codes; do not overtighten, as brass fittings can crack under excessive force. Follow applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements for pressure-rated fittings in the intended service.
