The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 18066L is a light pattern compression union designed to join two runs of tubing with a removable, reusable connection. Built from brass, this fitting accepts 3/8-inch compression connections on both ends and is rated for up to 200 psi at temperatures ranging from -65 to 250 degrees F. The 9/16-24 thread and 0.56-inch hex body allow for clean installation with standard hand tools. The center-to-center dimension of 0.96 inches keeps the assembly compact in tight plumbing runs. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians install this fitting in refrigeration, water supply, and pneumatic line applications.
The 18066L is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing and HVAC applications where a serviceable, reusable union is needed. It is rated for use with copper, aluminum, and thermoplastic tubing, making it a versatile choice across a range of piping systems. Its light pattern body is appropriate for lower-pressure distribution lines, instrumentation tubing, and refrigerant-adjacent service lines where a full heavy-pattern fitting is not required.
Designed for use with copper, aluminum, and thermoplastic tubing in compression-style plumbing and HVAC systems requiring a 3/8-inch union connection.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified HVAC technician in accordance with local plumbing codes and the IPC. Shut off and depressurize the line before disassembly or installation. Do not overtighten the compression nut - snug plus one-quarter turn is the standard field practice for compression fittings. Inspect the tubing end for squareness and burrs before seating the ferrule to ensure a leak-free joint.
