The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 17190N is a nylon male connector adapter designed to transition a 3/8-inch compression connection to a 1/2-inch male iron pipe (MIP) thread. Rated for 125 psi working pressure and a temperature range of -40 to 200 degrees F, this fitting is well-suited for low-pressure fluid and gas distribution lines where a plastic fitting is appropriate. The white nylon construction resists corrosion and is lightweight, making it a practical choice for plumbing, irrigation, and HVAC condensate or water supply applications. Plumbers and HVAC technicians are the primary installers. Thread specifications are 9/16-24 on the compression side and 1/2-14 NPT on the MIP side.
This adapter is used in residential and light commercial installations where a compression tube line needs to connect to a male threaded port. Common applications include water supply lines, low-pressure pneumatic circuits, and condensate or refrigerant-side ancillary water connections. The nylon material is compatible with a range of fluids in the rated temperature and pressure envelope. It is not intended for high-pressure or high-temperature service beyond the rated limits.
Designed as an OEM-style plastic compression male connector for low-pressure plumbing and fluid-handling systems requiring a 3/8-inch compression to 1/2-inch MIP transition.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber or HVAC technician. Shut off the water or fluid supply and relieve system pressure before fitting installation. Hand-tighten the compression nut first, then snug with an appropriate wrench - do not overtighten nylon fittings, as the material can crack under excessive torque. Verify the connected tube is the correct outer diameter and is fully seated against the compression seat before pressurizing the system.
