The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 17189P is a male connector adapter designed to transition between a 3/8-inch compression fitting and a 3/8-inch male NPT thread. Molded from polypropylene, this fitting is suited for low-pressure fluid and water distribution applications where corrosion resistance and chemical compatibility are required. The compression side accepts standard 3/8-inch OD tubing, while the male NPT end threads directly into a female NPT port. Thread specs are 9/16-24 on the compression side and 3/8-18 NPT on the male end. At 0.02 pounds, it is a compact, lightweight fitting used in residential and light commercial plumbing, filtration, and water treatment systems. Installation is handled by plumbers and water treatment technicians.
This adapter is commonly used in residential water filtration systems, reverse osmosis installations, ice maker lines, and similar low-pressure water distribution applications. The polypropylene construction makes it a practical choice where metal fittings may corrode or react with treated water. It fits into tight plumbing runs where a compact male connector is needed to bridge compression tubing to an NPT-threaded valve, manifold, or equipment port.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for residential and light commercial plumbing systems using 3/8-inch OD compression tubing and 3/8-inch female NPT ports, including water filtration, water treatment, and similar low-pressure distribution applications.
This fitting is installed by licensed plumbers or water treatment technicians. Shut off the water supply and relieve line pressure before installing or replacing any compression fitting. Hand-tighten the NPT end and apply appropriate thread sealant tape to the male NPT threads before making up the connection. Do not overtighten the compression nut, as polypropylene fittings can crack under excessive torque.
