The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 16119 is a double compression male adapter fitting machined from brass, designed to transition a 3/16-inch threaded sleeve connection to a 1/8-inch male iron pipe (MIP) thread. The fitting carries a 3/8-24 thread on the sleeve side and a 1/8-27 NPT thread on the pipe side. It is rated to 500 psi and handles temperatures from -65 to 250 degrees F, making it a reliable choice for low-volume fluid and gas line connections in tight spaces. Plumbers and HVAC technicians commonly install this fitting when adapting small-diameter tubing into a threaded pipe manifold or panel assembly.
This adapter is suited for residential and light commercial installations where 3/16-inch aluminum, copper, or plastic tubing must terminate at a 1/8-inch NPT port. Plastic tubing applications require an internal tube support insert to maintain tube shape under compression. The compact overall length of 0.69 inches and 0.43-inch hex flat allow installation in confined spaces with a standard open-end or box wrench. Typical applications include refrigeration, pneumatic control lines, and instrumentation tubing runs.
Compatible with 3/16-inch OD aluminum tubing, copper tubing, and plastic tubing. Plastic tubing installations require an internal tube support insert. Connects to any standard 1/8-inch 27 NPT female threaded port.
This fitting is installed by licensed plumbers or HVAC technicians working with small-diameter tubing systems. Shut off and depressurize the line before disassembly or installation. When using with plastic tubing, insert an internal tube support before sliding tubing into the sleeve to prevent collapse under compression. Apply thread sealant to the MIP threads in accordance with applicable local plumbing or mechanical codes; do not overtighten, as brass fittings can crack under excessive torque.
