The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 12146 is a brass towed trailer brake tee fitting designed for hydraulic brake line applications on towed trailers. It provides a three-way connection with two inverted flare ports and one male-threaded port, allowing technicians to split or route brake fluid lines during installation or service. The fitting handles up to 1900 psi and operates across a temperature range of -65 to 250 degrees F. At 1.32 inches in length and 0.53 inches in width, it is a compact component suited for tight routing in brake line assemblies. Installation and service are typically performed by hydraulic brake system technicians working on trailer brake configurations.
This fitting is used in hydraulic brake line systems on towed trailers, particularly where a branch or tee connection is required in the brake circuit. It is compatible with aluminum, brass, copper, and steel hydraulic tubing with a 0.03-inch tube wall. The 7/16-24 inverted flared seat port, the 3/8-24 inverted flared port, and the 1/4-inch male thread port accommodate standard trailer brake line tubing sizes commonly found in light-duty towing applications. It is appropriate for both new installations and brake line repair work.
Compatible with aluminum, brass, copper, and steel hydraulic tubing with a 0.03-inch tube wall. Designed for use in towed trailer hydraulic brake line systems using 3/16-inch inverted flare tubing connections.
Installation should be performed by a qualified technician familiar with hydraulic brake systems and DOT brake line requirements. Depressurize and drain the brake system completely before disconnecting any fittings. Use the appropriate inverted flare tubing tools and flare nut wrenches to avoid damaging the seat or threads. Inspect tubing ends for proper flare geometry before assembly to ensure a leak-free connection.
