The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 12108 is a straight adapter fitting that connects a 1-inch inverted flare end to a 1-inch male NPTF thread. Machined from brass, this adapter is built for hydraulic and fluid-transfer applications where a leak-resistant, pressure-capable connection is required. It measures 1.62 inches in length with a 1-1/2-inch hex for standard wrench engagement. Thread specifications are 1-5/16-16 on the inverted flare side and 1-11/2 NPT on the male end. The operating temperature range spans -65 to 250 degrees F. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and hydraulic technicians are the primary installers of this fitting type.
This adapter is intended for use with hydraulic tubing made from aluminum, brass, copper, or steel that is capable of being flared to an inverted flare profile. It is well suited to mobile hydraulic systems, industrial fluid lines, and any installation requiring a transition from an inverted flare tube connection to a standard NPTF threaded port. The inverted flare design provides a metal-to-metal seat that resists vibration loosening under dynamic load conditions common in hydraulic circuits.
Designed for use with aluminum, brass, copper, and steel hydraulic tubing that can be flared to an inverted flare profile. Suitable for hydraulic and fluid systems requiring an inverted flare to NPTF threaded transition.
Installation should be performed by a qualified pipefitter, hydraulic technician, or licensed plumber familiar with inverted flare and NPTF thread connections. Depressurize and drain the hydraulic or fluid system fully before removing or installing any fittings. NPTF threads are designed for dry-seal engagement, but consult system requirements regarding thread sealant use. Do not over-torque brass fittings, as the material is susceptible to thread damage under excessive force.
