The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 120A-DD is a brass extender adapter designed to extend or offset pipe runs using a 1/2-inch female NPTF inlet and a 1/2-inch male NPTF outlet. Built from solid brass, this fitting handles pressures up to 1200 psi and operates across a wide temperature range of -65 to 250 degrees F. The 1/2-14 thread specification ensures a secure, leak-resistant connection when properly assembled. Plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors install this type of adapter wherever a male-to-female extension is needed within a threaded pipe assembly.
This extender adapter is suited for use in residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC, and industrial piping applications. It is compatible with aluminum, brass, bronze, copper, iron, and steel pipe, making it a versatile fitting across a broad range of system types. Typical installations include extending threaded pipe connections at valves, manifolds, equipment ports, and instrument taps where additional thread engagement or dimensional offset is required.
Designed for use with aluminum, brass, bronze, copper, iron, and steel pipe in threaded NPTF pipe systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter in accordance with applicable plumbing codes such as the IPC. Shut off system pressure and depressurize the line before disassembly or installation. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape appropriate for the service media to the male NPTF threads before assembly. Do not overtighten; use a pipe wrench with a backup wrench on adjacent fittings to avoid stressing connected components.
