The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 10612 is a brass SAE 45-degree flared adapter designed to connect a 3/8-inch male flared end to a 3/8-inch sweat (solder) end in refrigeration, HVAC, and hydraulic tubing systems. The fitting features a 5/8-18 thread on the flare side and is rated for working pressures up to 1000 psi across a temperature range of -65 to 250 degrees F. Constructed from brass, it delivers reliable corrosion resistance and long service life in both stationary and light-duty hydraulic applications. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and refrigeration mechanics commonly install this fitting when transitioning between flared and soldered connections in copper or brass line sets.
This adapter is suited for residential and light commercial HVAC, refrigeration, and hydraulic tubing installations where a flare-to-sweat transition is required. It is compatible with aluminum, brass, copper, and steel hydraulic tubing that can be flared to the SAE 45-degree standard. The sweat end accepts standard 3/8-inch copper tubing for a soldered joint, making it a practical transition fitting in split-system refrigerant lines, fuel lines, and hydraulic circuits. Minimum order quantity is one piece.
Designed for use with aluminum, brass, copper, and steel hydraulic tubing that can be flared to the SAE 45-degree standard, with a minimum tube wall thickness of 0.032 inches.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber, HVAC technician, or refrigeration mechanic in accordance with applicable codes. Always depressurize and evacuate the system before disconnecting or installing fittings. The sweat end requires standard soldering practices using appropriate flux and solder for the tubing material; do not apply torch heat directly to the flare threads. Hand-tighten the flare nut before applying final torque to avoid cross-threading the 5/8-18 flare connection.
