The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 10449 is a 45-degree elbow fitting designed for hydraulic and fluid system connections requiring a direction change at a 45-degree angle. Constructed from forged brass, this fitting joins a 1/4-inch male flared end to a 1/4-inch male NPTF end, using a 7/16-20 x 1/4-18 thread specification. It is rated to 1400 psi and handles a temperature range of -65 to 250 degrees F. The forged brass construction provides reliable performance in fuel, refrigerant, and hydraulic line applications. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and hydraulic system installers work with this fitting in both residential and light commercial settings.
This elbow is suited for use with aluminum, brass, copper, and steel hydraulic tubing that can be flared to the SAE 45-degree flare standard. It is commonly installed in tight-space routing situations where a straight fitting cannot make the required directional transition. The male NPTF end provides a pressure-tight mechanical seal without the need for sealant tape, making it a practical choice for fuel and hydraulic circuit connections in equipment, HVAC systems, and fluid transfer lines.
Designed for use with aluminum, brass, copper, and steel hydraulic tubing that can be flared to SAE 45-degree flare standards. Suitable for hydraulic, fuel, and fluid system lines requiring a 1/4-inch male flare to 1/4-inch male NPTF transition.
Installation should be performed by a qualified plumber, HVAC technician, or hydraulic system technician. Depressurize and isolate the fluid system completely before removing or installing any fittings. The NPTF thread is designed to seal on the thread form itself; inspect threads carefully before assembly and avoid cross-threading. Verify tubing is properly flared to the SAE 45-degree flare specification before tightening to prevent leaks.
