The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 103522 is a 3000 lb-rated hex bushing designed to reduce a 1-1/2 inch male pipe thread (MPT) connection down to a 3/4 inch female pipe thread (FPT) connection. Constructed from 304 stainless steel, this fitting resists corrosion in demanding fluid and gas piping systems. It conforms to ASME B1.20.1 thread standards, ensuring reliable, leak-free engagement with standard NPT pipe and fittings. The hex body profile allows standard wrench engagement for proper installation torque. At 0.75 pounds, it is a compact, durable reducer bushing suited for high-pressure applications in industrial, commercial, and mechanical piping systems.
This hex bushing is used wherever a piping system requires a threaded reduction from 1-1/2 inch MPT to 3/4 inch FPT in a high-pressure environment. The 3000 lb pressure class rating makes it appropriate for steam, water, oil, and gas service lines in industrial plant piping, commercial HVAC mechanical rooms, and process piping installations. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors typically install this fitting during new construction or system modifications requiring a thread size change at a valve, instrument, or branch connection.
Designed as a high-pressure threaded reducer bushing compatible with standard NPT pipe systems conforming to ASME B1.20.1 thread specifications in 3000 lb-class stainless steel piping applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable mechanical and plumbing codes. Isolate and depressurize the piping system completely before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads prior to assembly, following the sealant manufacturer's instructions for the service fluid. Do not over-torque stainless steel threaded fittings, as galling can occur; use controlled hand-tight plus wrench-turn technique per standard trade practice.
