The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 10331U is a forged brass 90-degree elbow fitting designed to connect a 3/4-inch male SAE 45-degree flare end to a 3/4-inch female NPT (FNPTF) pipe thread. Built from forged brass for strength and corrosion resistance, this fitting handles pressures up to 550 psi and operates across a temperature range of -65 to 250 degrees F. The thread specifications are 1-1/16-14 on the flare end and 3/4-14 on the pipe end. It is installed by licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and hydraulic system technicians working on fluid and gas line assemblies that require a direction change from tubing to pipe thread connections.
This elbow is suited for use with aluminum, brass, copper, and steel hydraulic tubing that can be flared to the SAE 45-degree specification. Typical applications include hydraulic lines, refrigeration-adjacent fluid systems, and gas distribution piping where a 90-degree directional change from a flared tube to a threaded pipe port is required. The fitting is rated for both high-pressure and wide-temperature-range service, making it appropriate for demanding industrial and mechanical installations. Minimum order quantity is 1.
Compatible with aluminum, brass, copper, and steel hydraulic tubing that can be flared to SAE 45-degree specification. Requires a minimum tube wall thickness of 0.035 inches for proper flare formation and seal.
Installation should be performed by a qualified plumber, HVAC technician, or hydraulic systems technician familiar with flare fitting assembly. Always depressurize and drain the line before disassembly or new installation. Use a calibrated flaring tool to achieve a clean, consistent 45-degree flare before seating the fitting. Apply thread sealant to the NPT side only - do not apply sealant to the flare seating surfaces, as flare connections rely on metal-to-metal contact for sealing.
