The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 10294 is a forged brass 90-degree male elbow fitting designed for hydraulic and fluid system connections in trade and industrial applications. It transitions from a 3/8-inch SAE 45-degree male flared connection to a 1/4-inch male NPTF thread, with a 5/8-18 x 1/4-18 thread specification. The forged brass construction provides corrosion resistance and durability under working pressures up to 1000 psi. This fitting handles a temperature range of -65 to 250 degrees F, making it suitable for a broad range of fluid service conditions. Plumbers, pipefitters, and hydraulic system technicians install this type of fitting in both stationary and mobile equipment applications.
This fitting is suited for residential, commercial, and light industrial hydraulic line assemblies where a 90-degree directional change is required. It is rated for use with copper, brass, aluminum, and steel hydraulic tubing. The SAE 45-degree flare end provides a reliable metal-to-metal seal, while the NPTF male thread end creates a pressure-tight connection at the port side. Typical install scenarios include hydraulic control systems, refrigeration service lines, and compressed gas assemblies where a compact elbow geometry is needed.
Designed for use with copper, brass, aluminum, and steel hydraulic tubing. The SAE 45-degree flare end and NPTF male port are standard configurations used across a wide range of hydraulic and fluid system assemblies.
Installation should be performed by a qualified plumber, pipefitter, or hydraulic systems technician. Depressurize and isolate the system completely before disassembling any fittings or lines. Inspect flare seats and threads for damage before assembly, and ensure the SAE 45-degree flare is properly formed to achieve a reliable metal-to-metal seal. Follow applicable plumbing and hydraulic codes for the jurisdiction and system type.
