The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 10268 is a brass SAE 45-degree flare male adapter designed to connect 1/2-inch male flared tubing to a 3/8-inch male NPTF port. The fitting threads are 3/4-16 on the flare end and 3/8-18 on the NPTF end, with a 3/4-inch hex for wrench engagement. Rated to 750 psi and suitable for temperatures ranging from -65 to 250 degrees F, this adapter is built for hydraulic line assemblies where a reliable, leak-resistant transition between flare and pipe thread connections is required. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and hydraulic technicians install this type of fitting in fluid transfer and hydraulic system applications.
This adapter is suited for residential and light commercial hydraulic tubing systems. It is compatible with copper, brass, aluminum, and steel hydraulic tubing per SAE 45-degree flare standards. The male NPTF thread on the second connection provides a pressure-tight dry-seal fit without the need for additional sealant when properly assembled. Typical installations include hydraulic control lines, fluid distribution manifolds, and equipment repair scenarios where an existing NPTF port must accept a flared tubing line.
Compatible with copper, brass, aluminum, and steel hydraulic tubing using SAE 45-degree flare connections. Threads are 3/4-16 on the flare side and 3/8-18 NPTF on the pipe side.
Installation should be performed by a licensed pipefitter, plumber, or qualified hydraulic technician following applicable local and national codes. Depressurize and isolate the hydraulic system completely before removing or installing any fittings. Use a properly sized open-end or flare-nut wrench on the 3/4-inch hex; do not use pipe wrenches, which can deform the fitting body. Inspect the flare seat and NPTF threads for damage before assembly to ensure a leak-free connection.
