The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 10236L is a light pattern brass adapter fitting that connects a 3/8-inch male SAE 45-degree flared end to a 3/8-inch female NPT (FNPTF) port. It transitions between flare-type hydraulic tubing connections and standard pipe thread fittings in fluid and gas distribution systems. The fitting carries a 1000 psi pressure rating and operates across a temperature range of -65 to 250 degrees F. With a 0.81-inch hex and an overall length of 1.25 inches, this compact adapter is sized for tight installations. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and hydraulic system technicians are the typical installers.
This adapter is suited for use in residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC refrigerant line work, and hydraulic tubing assemblies where a flare-to-pipe-thread transition is required. It is rated for use with copper, brass, aluminum, and steel hydraulic tubing with a minimum tube wall thickness of 0.032 inches. The SAE 45-degree flare seat conforms to standard flare fitting geometry, making it a direct-fit solution in systems that call out 3/8-inch flare connections at an NPT port.
Designed for use with copper, brass, aluminum, and steel hydraulic tubing. Suitable as an OEM-style flare-to-pipe-thread adapter in SAE 45-degree flare systems requiring a 3/8-inch male flared to 3/8-inch FNPTF connection.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber, HVAC technician, or hydraulic system mechanic. Shut off all system pressure and purge the line before disassembly or fitting installation. Hand-tighten the flare nut onto the flared tubing seat first, then apply wrench torque per applicable system guidelines - do not overtighten brass fittings. Verify that tubing is properly flared to a true 45-degree seat before final assembly to prevent leaks.
