The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 10110 is a brass SAE 45-degree flare union designed to connect two male flared tube ends in a single in-line fitting. It accepts 5/8-inch male flared connections on both sides with a 7/8-14 thread and a 0.87-inch hex, making it wrench-friendly during installation or service. Rated to 650 psi and suitable for temperatures from -65 to 250 degrees F, this fitting handles the pressure and thermal demands typical of hydraulic and refrigerant line work. The 0.035-inch minimum tube wall spec helps ensure flare integrity at rated pressure. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians are the primary installers of this fitting type.
This union is intended for use with copper, brass, aluminum, and steel hydraulic tubing in both residential and light commercial applications. Common install scenarios include hydraulic system repairs, refrigerant line section replacements, and fuel or pneumatic line unions where a removable, pressure-rated connection point is needed. The SAE 45-degree flare standard ensures broad compatibility with tubing and components designed to that specification. Its compact 2.12-inch length suits tight equipment compartments and panel installations.
Designed for use with copper, brass, aluminum, and steel hydraulic tubing meeting the SAE 45-degree flare standard with a minimum tube wall of 0.035 inches.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber, pipefitter, or HVAC technician familiar with flare fitting assembly. Before installation, depressurize and drain or purge the line completely. Use a properly sized flaring tool to produce a clean, consistent 45-degree flare seat before assembling the union. Hand-tighten the connection first, then advance with a wrench to a snug fit - avoid over-tightening, which can crack the flare seat and cause leaks.
