The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 10065 is a brass flared plug designed to cap off 5/16-inch SAE 45-degree flare connections in hydraulic and fluid systems. It features a 1/2-20 UNF thread and a 1/2-inch hex drive for standard wrench installation. Rated to 1200 psi and built to perform across a temperature range of -65 to 250 degrees F, this plug is suited for demanding fluid line applications. The brass construction provides corrosion resistance and durability in both stationary and mobile hydraulic installations. Tube wall thickness compatibility is 0.032 inches.
This plug is used to terminate or seal 5/16-inch flared tube ends on aluminum, brass, copper, and steel hydraulic tubing that has been flared to SAE 45-degree specification. It is commonly installed in hydraulic systems found in light industrial equipment, mobile machinery, and fluid power circuits where a reliable, pressure-rated end cap is needed. The compact form factor and standard hex size make it straightforward to install in tight spaces.
Designed for use with aluminum, brass, copper, and steel hydraulic tubing that can be flared to SAE 45-degree specification, with a minimum tube wall thickness of 0.032 inches.
Installation is typically performed by hydraulic technicians or plumbers familiar with SAE flare fittings. Depressurize and drain the hydraulic line completely before removing or capping any fitting. Use a properly sized wrench on the 1/2-inch hex to achieve a leak-free seat without overtightening the brass threads. Inspect the flared tube end for cracks or deformation before installing the plug.
