The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 10063 is a brass SAE 45-degree flared plug designed to seal off a 3/16-inch flared tubing connection. It threads into a female flare fitting using a 3/8-24 UNF thread and is tightened with a standard 1/2-inch hex wrench or open-end wrench. The plug is rated for 1,900 psi working pressure and a temperature range of -65 to 250 degrees F, making it suitable for hydraulic and fluid-transfer lines that require a secure, leak-free termination. Licensed plumbers, hydraulic technicians, and pipefitters install this type of plug when capping an unused port or completing a tubing run.
This plug is intended for use with aluminum, brass, copper, and steel hydraulic tubing that can be flared to a 45-degree SAE flare profile. It is a standard component in hydraulic and pneumatic tubing assemblies found in both mobile and stationary equipment. The minimum tube wall thickness for proper seating is 0.03 inches. Its compact dimensions and brass construction make it a practical choice for tight spaces where a reliable pressure-rated cap is needed.
Designed for use with aluminum, brass, copper, and steel hydraulic tubing that can be flared to the SAE 45-degree flare standard, requiring a minimum tube wall thickness of 0.03 inches.
Depressurize and drain any hydraulic or fluid line fully before removing or capping fittings. Thread the plug in by hand first to confirm proper thread engagement, then tighten with a 1/2-inch wrench - do not overtighten, as brass threads can be damaged by excessive torque. Inspect the flare seat on the mating fitting for scoring or deformation before installing the plug. Follow applicable hydraulic system codes and equipment manufacturer guidelines for pressure-rated fittings.
