The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 09205-0908 is a brass shut-off cock designed for manual flow control in low-pressure gas and fluid piping systems. It features a 9/16-inch flared inlet and a 1/2-inch female pipe thread (FPT) outlet, with a 1/2-14 thread size. The brass body offers reliable corrosion resistance for residential and light commercial applications. Rated to 30 psi and operable across a temperature range of 32 to 125 degrees F, this fitting is controlled by a handle operator for quick manual shutoff. Plumbers and gas fitters install this component where a compact inline shutoff is needed at an appliance connection point.
This shut-off cock is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing and gas distribution lines where a flared-to-female pipe thread transition with inline shutoff capability is required. It fits into tight spaces near appliance connections, supply lines, or branch takeoffs. The handle operator allows fast manual valve actuation without additional tools. Typical installations include gas appliance hookups, refrigeration lines, and similar low-pressure service applications where a reliable shutoff at the point of connection is required by code or best practice.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation brass shut-off cock for low-pressure plumbing and gas systems using 9/16-inch flared tubing connections and 1/2-inch female pipe thread fittings.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or gas fitter in accordance with applicable local codes, the International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC), or the International Plumbing Code (IPC) as appropriate. Shut off the gas or water supply and relieve system pressure before removing or installing any fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or tape to the FPT connection and ensure the flare is properly formed and seated before torquing. Do not exceed the rated 30 psi working pressure or the stated temperature limits of this fitting.
