The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 04093-06060808 is a four-way brass cross fitting designed for SAE 45-degree flare and female NPT plumbing connections. It provides a single junction point for splitting or combining refrigerant, fuel gas, or hydraulic lines in trade installations. The fitting features three male flared ports and one female NPT port across two sizes, making it well-suited for mixed-connection plumbing runs. Constructed from brass, it resists corrosion and holds up under the pressure and temperature cycling common in HVAC, refrigeration, and fuel gas systems. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians are the primary installers of this type of fitting.
This cross fitting is used in residential and light commercial applications where a single line must branch into multiple directions or where a flare-to-NPT transition is required at the same junction. Two ports accept 3/8-inch male flared connections following SAE 45-degree flare geometry, a third port accepts a 1/2-inch male flared connection, and the fourth port accepts a 1/2-inch female NPT threaded connection. Typical install scenarios include refrigerant distribution manifolds, LP or natural gas branch lines, and other fluid or gas piping assemblies that combine flare and NPT terminations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install cross fitting for SAE 45-degree flare plumbing systems that require both flared and female NPT connections at a four-way junction.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified HVAC technician following applicable local codes, including IFGC requirements for gas piping. Shut off all gas or fluid supply and verify zero system pressure before disassembling or installing any fitting. Flare connections require properly flared tubing ends using a calibrated 45-degree flaring tool; inspect flare seats for damage before assembly. NPT threads should be sealed with an appropriate thread sealant rated for the intended service medium; do not over-torque brass fittings.
