The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 00069-1008 is a forged brass 90-degree elbow fitting designed to transition between a 5/8-inch compression connection and a 1/2-inch male NPTF threaded port. Rated for 150 psi and a temperature range of -65 to 250 degrees F, this fitting is suited for refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, and light industrial tubing runs where a direction change is required at a threaded component interface. The compression end accepts copper, aluminum, and thermoplastic tubing without soldering or special tools. With a 0.68-inch body size and a center-to-end measurement of 1.06 by 1.16 inches, this elbow fits into tight installation spaces while maintaining full flow integrity.
This fitting is installed in applications where a compression tubing line must connect to a male NPTF-threaded port at a 90-degree angle. Common scenarios include connecting tubing to valves, gauges, or equipment ports in HVAC systems, plumbing rough-ins, and refrigeration circuits. The male NPTF thread uses a 1/2-14 thread specification, and the compression side carries a 13/16-18 thread. It is appropriate for both residential and light commercial service work where copper, aluminum, or thermoplastic tubing is in use.
Designed for use with copper, aluminum, and thermoplastic tubing in compression fitting applications requiring a 5/8-inch compression to 1/2-inch male NPTF transition at a 90-degree angle.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or HVAC technicians following applicable IPC and IFGC guidelines. Shut off the water or refrigerant supply and relieve system pressure before disassembling or installing any fitting. Hand-tighten the compression nut onto the tubing, then snug with a wrench - do not overtighten, as this can deform the ferrule and cause leaks. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male NPTF threads as appropriate for the service fluid before threading into the mating port.
