The MICRO 100 SPD-250-090X is a solid carbide spotting drill designed to create precise starter holes that guide twist drills and prevent walking on the workpiece surface. With a 90-degree drill point angle and a 0.25-inch cutting diameter, this tool delivers accurate hole location in a wide range of materials. The AlTiN coating provides heat resistance and extended tool life in ferrous and hardened materials. It is a single-ended tool intended for use in CNC machining centers, knee mills, and manual drill presses by machinists and toolroom professionals.
This spotting drill is suited for general-purpose spotting and centering operations in production and job-shop environments. The 2-flute spiral design with a 25-degree helix angle promotes clean chip evacuation and stable cutting action. The straight cylindrical shank measures 0.25 inches in diameter, making it compatible with standard ER collet chucks and drill chucks in both inch and metric tooling setups. It handles ferrous metals, aluminum, and alloy steels in typical machining applications.
Designed as a general-purpose spotting and centering drill compatible with standard 0.25-inch straight-shank toolholders including ER collet systems and drill chucks.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Secure the shank fully in the collet or chuck before operation and verify runout before cutting. Power down the spindle completely before changing or adjusting tooling. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines for spindle speed and feed rate based on workpiece material.
