The MICRO 100 RRL-087-20 is a solid carbide retaining ring grooving tool designed for precision internal groove cutting in machining applications. Built with a 3/8-inch shank diameter and a 0.087-inch groove width, this tool delivers consistent, repeatable groove geometry for retaining ring seat installation. The solid carbide construction provides the rigidity and wear resistance needed for accurate work in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals rely on this geometry for tight-tolerance internal grooving where groove position and width are critical to assembly function.
This tool is suited for internal retaining ring groove operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. It accepts a minimum hole diameter of 0.375 inches, making it appropriate for small-bore work. With a maximum hole depth of 1.5 inches and an overall length of 3.0 inches, it handles a range of typical bore depths encountered in production and repair machining environments. It is most commonly used by machinists in job shops, production facilities, and maintenance machining operations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use grooving tool compatible with standard 3/8-inch bore toolholders used in CNC and manual turning applications requiring internal retaining ring grooves.
This tool is installed and operated by qualified machinists on lathes or turning centers. Ensure the toolholder bore and set screws are clean and properly torqued before use. The workpiece spindle should be at a full stop before indexing or changing tooling. Follow all machine guarding and chip control practices appropriate to carbide grooving operations.
