The MICRO 100 RR-017-10X is a solid carbide internal grooving tool designed for cutting retaining ring grooves in bored holes. With a groove width of 0.017 inches and a 1/4-inch shank diameter, this tool is built for precision work in small-diameter bores. The overall length is 2.5 inches, and the projection is 0.05 inches. Solid carbide construction provides the rigidity and wear resistance needed to hold tight tolerances on internal groove geometry. This tool is intended for use on CNC lathes and manual turning equipment where accurate retaining ring groove placement is required.
This grooving tool is suited for machining internal retaining ring grooves in small bores with a minimum hole diameter of 0.25 inches and a maximum hole depth of 0.25 inches. Typical applications include precision parts manufacturing, toolroom work, and production turning where circlip or retaining ring grooves must be cut to consistent width and depth. It is used by machinists in job shop, manufacturing, and maintenance-repair-operations environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for internal retaining ring grooving operations on turning centers and manual lathes accepting a 1/4-inch shank diameter.
This tool is installed and operated by qualified machinists on turning equipment. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is properly secured before mounting or removing the tool. Set projection and depth of cut according to the retaining ring groove specifications for the workpiece. Verify shank seating and tool runout before taking finish passes to maintain groove width accuracy.
