The MICRO 100 RAD-4 is a concave radius cutting tool bit designed for precision radius-form turning operations on manual and CNC lathes. It cuts a 1/8 inch concave radius profile into workpieces, producing smooth, consistent curved features in a single pass. The square shank measures 3/8 inch, fitting standard tool holders and turret posts common in production and job-shop environments. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this style of form tool when a repeatable concave contour is required without the setup time of a profiled insert program.
This tool bit is suited for light-to-medium turning work on metals and plastics where a fixed concave radius form is specified. Typical applications include producing grooves, reliefs, and decorative or functional radii on shafts, pins, and turned components. It fits into standard 3/8 inch square tool holders used on bench lathes, engine lathes, and compact CNC turning centers. The fixed-radius geometry makes it a direct-use form tool without requiring additional grinding for standard 1/8 inch radius work.
Designed as an OEM-style form tool bit for use in standard 3/8 inch square shank tool holders on manual and CNC lathes.
A licensed machinist or qualified lathe operator should install and set this tool bit. Secure the shank firmly in the tool holder and ensure the cutting edge is set on center height before engaging the workpiece. Power down and lock out the lathe spindle before seating or adjusting the tool bit in the holder. Do not exceed the feed and speed parameters appropriate for the workpiece material and machine rating.
