The MICRO 100 QBT-1801000 is a solid carbide boring bar designed for internal diameter finishing and sizing operations on lathes and boring mills. It features a 0.180-inch minimum bore diameter, a 1-inch maximum bore depth, and a 1/4-inch shank diameter. The overall length is 2.5 inches. A 0.006-inch corner radius delivers consistent surface finish control in tight-tolerance bores. Solid carbide construction provides rigidity and wear resistance needed for precision work in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. This tool is suited for CNC and manual turning centers where small-bore accuracy is critical.
This boring bar is used in machine shops, toolrooms, and production environments where small internal diameters must be held to close tolerances. Right-hand cutting direction makes it compatible with standard forward-turning setups. Typical applications include finish boring of bushings, bearing seats, and other precision bore features in workpieces held in a lathe chuck or collet. It is sized for use in small-bore situations where larger bars cannot reach or fit.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use boring bar for lathes and boring mills accepting a 1/4-inch shank boring bar holder.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine before inserting or removing the boring bar from its holder. Ensure the shank is fully seated and clamped securely in the tool holder to minimize deflection and chatter. Follow shop safety standards and machine manufacturer guidelines for tool overhang and feed rate selection.
