The MICRO 100 MBC-500 is a solid carbide back chamfer tool designed to cut chamfers on the reverse side of drilled or bored holes without repositioning the workpiece. The tool features a 1/2 inch cutter head diameter, a 90-degree included angle, and a 0.125 inch chamfer width. With 5 flutes and a bright uncoated finish, the MBC-500 delivers clean, consistent back chamfers in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Overall length is 2.63 inches. Machinists, toolmakers, and CNC operators working in precision manufacturing environments will find this tool suited to production and job-shop applications alike.
The MBC-500 is applied wherever a back chamfer or reverse deburr is required on through-holes, cross-holes, or intersecting bores. It is commonly used in machining centers and manual mills handling parts where access to the rear face of a hole is limited. The bright uncoated carbide construction makes it appropriate for aluminum, brass, steel, and similar materials where a coating is not required or preferred.
Designed as an OEM-style back chamfer tool for use in standard CNC machining centers and manual milling setups requiring reverse chamfering of drilled or bored through-holes.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician following standard tool-change procedures for the machine in use. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Confirm tool projection and holder grip length are appropriate for the depth of the back chamfer being cut. Follow the machine manufacturer and shop safety guidelines when setting feeds and speeds for carbide tooling.
