The MICRO 100 GEM-140-4X is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. With a 9/64 inch (0.1406 inch) mill diameter, a 1/2 inch length of cut, and a 4-flute spiral geometry, this single-end tool delivers clean, accurate cuts in a compact form factor. The AlTiN coating provides heat and wear resistance, making it well suited for high-speed operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. A 30-degree right-hand helix promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. This tool is installed and used by machinists and CNC operators working in production and job-shop environments.
The GEM-140-4X is built for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and other non-ferrous materials, as well as high-temperature alloys. Its 3/16 inch shank diameter and 2 inch overall length suit compact toolholders and small-part setups where clearance is limited. The center-cutting design allows for direct plunging, expanding its use in slotting, profiling, and pocket-milling operations. Right-hand cutting and flute direction follow standard CNC mill conventions.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide end mill in the MICRO 100 GEM series, compatible with standard CNC milling machines and manual mills using 3/16 inch collets or toolholders. Primary workpiece material compatibility includes steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous materials, and high-temperature alloys.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is de-energized before changing tooling. Secure the shank fully within the collet or toolholder to the manufacturer-recommended engagement depth to prevent pullout. Follow applicable shop safety protocols and machine manufacturer guidelines when setting speeds and feeds for carbide end mills.
