The MICRO 100 ER16-156 is an ER16 series collet sized at 0.1562 inches (5/32 inch), designed for use in ER16-compatible collet chucks on CNC machining centers, manual mills, and lathes. This collet holds cutting tools and workpieces with a Total Indicator Runout (TIR) of 0.0004 inches, providing the precision required for accurate milling, drilling, and reaming operations. It does not include through-coolant capability. Machinists and CNC setup technicians install this collet as part of a standard ER16 toolholding system. The unit weighs 0.1 pounds.
This collet is suited for light-duty to medium-duty machining applications where a 0.1562-inch tool shank must be held securely and concentrically. Typical use cases include end mill and drill bit retention in small-bore ER16 chucks on benchtop CNC routers, vertical machining centers, and manual knee mills. It is appropriate for production shops, tool rooms, and prototype machining environments where repeatable tool setup is critical.
Designed as a direct-fit ER16 series collet for use with any standard ER16 collet chuck or collet block that accepts the ER16 collet form factor.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing collets. Seat the collet fully into the collet nut before threading onto the chuck body to avoid cross-threading and collet damage. Inspect the collet bore and chuck taper for chips or debris before each installation.
