The MICRO 100 ER16-062 is an ER16 series collet designed to hold cutting tools and workpieces with a 0.0625 inch (1/16 inch) bore diameter. It delivers a total indicator runout (TIR) of 0.0004 inch, providing the precision concentricity that close-tolerance machining operations require. Machinists and toolroom technicians install this collet into ER16-compatible collet chucks on CNC machining centers, manual mills, and lathes. The tight TIR specification supports consistent tool positioning and minimizes deflection during light cuts on small-diameter tooling.
This collet is suited for production and toolroom environments where small-diameter end mills, drills, and reamers in the 1/16 inch shank range are commonly used. It fits any standard ER16 collet chuck, making it a practical addition to shops running high-precision work on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Through-coolant is not supported by this collet, so direct-coolant delivery must be handled externally if required by the application.
Designed for use with any standard ER16 collet chuck accepting 1/16 inch bore collets.
Installation is performed by machinists or toolroom technicians familiar with collet chuck systems. Power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing the collet. Seat the collet fully into the collet nut before threading the nut onto the chuck body, and torque the nut using an appropriate ER collet wrench to manufacturer specifications for the chuck. Inspect the collet bore and seating taper for chips or damage before each use to maintain TIR performance.
