The MICRO 100 BEM-062-04X is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. With a 1/16 inch (0.0625 inch) mill diameter and 4-flute configuration, this single-end tool delivers both roughing and finishing capability in a compact form factor. The AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating provides heat and wear resistance at elevated cutting temperatures. A 30-degree medium helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation while maintaining edge stability. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 1/8 inch in diameter with an h6 tolerance, ensuring consistent tool holding in standard collets and end mill holders.
This end mill is suited for milling operations in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Its stub-to-standard length geometry and 0.1880 inch reach length make it well-suited for slotting, profiling, and contouring in tight workpiece geometries where a longer reach would introduce deflection. The 1-1/2 inch overall length keeps rigidity high at this small diameter. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in CNC milling centers or manual knee mills will find this tool appropriate for fine-detail work and multi-material environments.
Designed for use in standard CNC and manual milling machines accepting a 1/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Compatible with workpiece materials coded P (steel), M (stainless steel), K (cast iron), N (non-ferrous metal), S (superalloys and titanium), and H (hard material) per ISO material classification.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's tooling guidelines. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism to the holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut, as TIR at this diameter directly affects tool life and surface finish.
